Anything but ordinary

The Fighters

Do you remember what you said to me
Just last December how we could be free
Should we surrender we would always be
Oh friends forever
And everytime my mind was filled with doubt
You would be there and we would work it out
Each time we left was just a roundabout
Oh way to say we'd never
Oh well we said we'd never

And you were right we put up quite a fight
And every trial just made us hold on tight
Oh were we wrong to keep this up so long
We were so strong
Oh baby, baby, maybe
It just wasn't us
It just wasn't us

Oh years from now when all is said and done
Would you still think that I'm the only one
Oh was it good oh did we have our fun
Oh we were good together
Yeah we were good together

And you were right we put up quite a fight
We wouldn't break, we couldn't if we tried
No we weren't wrong to keep this up so long
We were so strong
Oh baby, baby, maybe
It just wasn't us
It just wasn't us

We would work it out we would work it out
We could work it out we could work it out
We would work it out we would work it out
We could work it out, baby

So this is how it ends. With a song, written in half an hour while cruising at East Coast waiting for you to show up, so we could say goodbye. Except we didn't... we can't. We never could, could we? We're just too good together.

I'm just glad you're still here babe. I love you, think I always will.

Anyway, here's the other song. I think it's probably my favourite of all I've ever written, and I actually like the tunes of both these songs (and shockingly, you didn't object to them either) so whee!

The Ordinary Anthem

Here's looking at you looking at me looking at everybody
Wondering if our lives are gonna change
Cheers, look at us now, wondering how we could be everybody
Ordinary never seemed so strange

'Cos we were meant for something more than this
The world would die just for one kiss
Oh we could never be
Ordinary
You or me

I'm looking for you looking for me looking to be somebody
Trying for the man you'll be someday
Don't fade into life, hunger and strife
Fading into nobody
Lost in time with nothing more to say

'Cos you were meant for something more than this
And I would die just for one kiss
Oh we could never be
Ordinary
You or me
Can't you see
That we will not be free
'Cos we will always be
You and me

MelnGreg @ Cuban Brothers Gig at Zouk

Finally got that photo from the night of The Cuban Brothers!!!!! There we are, big eyes, pouty lips and all. Aren't we pretty? =P Kudos to Greg for stealing the pic...

Well I guess there's nothing more to say. Thanks for everything... sigh. No regrets, babe.
