It's really all about family... and friends

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 days of snacks, angbaos, fizzy drinks and friends. Family reunions, catching up with cousins, and a wee bit of gambling. So fun!

Pity tomorrow's a workday.

Oh well. Anyway. It was fun while it lasted ;) Saturday and Sunday were spent mostly with family. Realised I hadn't seen half my relatives in ages 'cos said half live/study overseas. So I tossed out the idea of a movie outing on Monday and the kids (ok they're really growing up pretty fast, but they're still at least 5 years younger than me so I guess I can call them kids. Heh!) on my mom's side went for it (surprisingly). We voted for Fun with D&J 'cos the girls are still too young to watch Fearless. Haha. So. Went out with the cousins yesterday. Didn't quite go as planned though. Rushed to Bishan to catch the 3.15pm movie, but GV screwed up with the ticket bookings so we ended up bowling at Marina instead.

Boy, can those kids bowl. I'm ashamed to say everyone, even my little cousin Stephanie who's 15 and sucked at bowling when we started (she was consistently bowling into the longkang throughout the first game - I've never seen such wonderfully bad bowling haha) bowled a strike or at least a spare sometime during the 2 games we played... except me. Yes, I got trounced by everyone but Stef, who showed a 300% improvement from her first game anyway. Sigh. I need to bowl more.

Hoping to get pictures soon. Stef and Kevin both brought cameras and were really trigger-happy so they probably got at least a couple of good shots. I think. Kev seems to have a thing for girls' hair... he was happily snapping photos in the bowling alley. Haha. So strange. Must be army.

Heh. My cousins are really fun to hang out with! Despite the age gap. (Feeling old.) Should do this more often. Whee!

In other news...

THE BIG AND VERY VERY IMPORTANT EVENT

Yes, I've finally visited The House of The Greg. Hee. It was all very nice and normal and low-key (not counting Guitar Hero - THAT wasn't low-key at all), but I still get a slight rush when I think about it. When you wait 2-and-a-half years for a thing to happen, when it actually happens, it's good no matter how it turns out. And you remember every single little detail of it. Kinda surreal, actually.

Anyway, I'm glad it happened. Just keep praying for us, yeah? We've still got a long ways to go.

Well, enough of that. Doo-di-doo-di-doo. The guys and Sam came over today. Alvin brought a couple of rather gory but very fun board games (thanks Alvin) and Greg actually made it too - thought for a while he wouldn't come. See lah make me sad. So bad one. Aiyah. Man, I need to find more creative games to play.

Ok anyway, time to sleep liao. Got work tomorrow (*gives a sigh that rattles the Earth*) so goodnight all. But before I go...

TA-DA!!!!!

My sister's blog. Don't think she'll let me link her site (BOO!!!!!) so I'll just put it here 'cos the last few entries were just written in such typical Lis fashion. Anyway since she doesn't read my blog (I think) I won't be discovered right? Haha.

Ok really bye now!

P.S. Just wanted to say, dear, I love you much much. Happy Anniversary ;) Congrats on making it this far... you honestly are the most patient guy in the world. And the sweetest. What else can I say? I think you already know what's in my heart. Maybe, that's the reason I'm with you.

Thank you for the memories

Happy Anniversary sweetheart! Thanks for the laughs, the hugs, and for always being there for me.

2 years 4 months and counting ;)

Fond memories from our most recent jaunts... (okay, so I only found photos for these)

Ophir... I *think* this was Dec '04. Anyway, it was my 7th time up, and Greg's 1st. Heh. I got stung by hornets this time, and Greg and Heng brought me down to the hospital. First time I've done a night descent on Ophir. Quite fun actually.

Advanced Open Water Diving at Pulau Aur, May '05. Okay, so we all got a little high. Can you spot the naughty girl in the naughty guy's lap behind Greg? I got alcohol poured down my shirt, and Greg cut himself on broken glass and didn't know how he did it. Naked Hongkong Guy (that's him with his arm around Greg) exposed himself to three little girls, or so the rumour went. Ah... those were wild days. Let's do it again!

A time to be thankful

My two favourite boys. Aren't they adorable?

Heh. Russ and Greg after their paintball shoot-out. Awwwwwwwwwww. They are both so CUTE! Notice they're about the same height... ;)

Finally discovered how to post pics (yeah yeah go ahead, say it, I'm slow). I'm just putting a few up for now, I'm still busy busy and I'm really not a great photographer so the shots aren't spectacular anyway. The two pics that follow are the gang at the paintball site (see where my gun is pointing? Hehe) and Greg just before he cuts his cake at Jack's place. He's doing his new "Chak!" thing.

I'm still a little tired from last night... New Year's Eve at Jack's, with some of the guys. Mahjong, bridge, poker, A-ha! (I so love this game, although doing math at 5 am probably does, as Jack kept reminding us, kill your brain cells), a little wine, lots of chicken curry (your mum's a great cook, Jack) and some good conversation. It's incredibly comforting to just hang out, to just... be with people whose company you enjoy. It's a good feeling, knowing I've been friends with these guys for so long. I need to do that more often, just chill. Thankfully, the project's coming to an end. Sorta.

Tired but not sleepy. Sigh. So many things to do tomorrow. It's kinda back to work, 'cos I'll be working on the practical book half the day. First I've gotta get the stuff from Saf. Catching a movie with the girls in the morning, not sure what we're watching yet though. Haha. After the guys, the girls. I've known these gals for such a long time, but man, everytime I see them it's like we're 16 years old again. We'll never grow up! I love the HPC. Viva le Berries!

We'll do another outing soon when everyone's free. Shimin can't join us tomorrow 'cos she'll be going back to her office. On a public holiday! At least I'll be working from home. Ah, work. I need a holiday ;)

Looking forward to the chalet this week. Oughta be fun, it always has been so far. Yay! More games. This time with money? Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh. Looks like I'll get to hang out again. Whee!

Take the shot! Take the shot!!!!

"Chak!"
