Our first Valentine's

Happy V Day peeps! Hope y'all had a great one.

Nick took me out for dinner at Ma Maison on Valentine's, and gave me two presents: a 'cool' one and an 'uncool' one (his words!). Let's just say I like the uncool one sufficiently to want to wear it out, and the cool one I love so much I finished it that night and went to bed lamenting that there wasn't more ;)

Took Friday off to hit the beach with Nick - an extended V Day, since it was our first =P It was really cool to have the beach almost all to ourselves for once, since it was a weekday. Blue skies, gentle waves and loooooong stretches of glorious beach. Luxury.

We managed to snag one of the beach shelters on Siloso Beach. It was such a perfect situation for napping... I was so tempted to just fall asleep on the beach mat!

Getting drowsy at Siloso. Nick either doesn't smile or gives a really cheesy smile in photos. In the end he just gave up and did this. Heh. Why do I love this guy so much? He makes me laugh. A lot.

Anyway. Nick prodded me awake to do what we went there to do - play frisbee!!!! Lisa left me her pretty orange frisbee with the grouchy eye on it (it's on loan till she gets back, if we haven't lost it/damaged it beyond repair by then) which we've since christened 'Cyclops'. So we tossed that around for a bit - thankfully, we lack Lisa's skill with the frisbee so we managed to avoid doing any grievious hurt to each other - till another couple, Wayne and Hui Pin, asked to join in. It was pretty fun. Gotta drag more peeps to the beach one day to play frisbee. Thinking of buying a cheapo one for beach play though, 'cos sand scratches, and Cyclops is too precious and pretty to risk defacing.

Wayne and Hui Pin went off to find grub after a while, which was a good thing I think, 'cos Nick and I were getting winded! Throwing distance increases proportionally to number of people playing. Heh. We counted down a few last good throws and catches and called it a day. Playing frisbee is tiring!

Off we went to find juice, and took some pictures along the way.

Nick getting friendly with a random tree. See what I mean by cheesy grin? Well, he's smiling! The tree, on the other hand, was badly traumatised and had to be sent to the sanitorium immediately after.

Me standing on one of the 'Siloso' letters. It's such a touristy thing to do, I know, but I couldn't resist. It felt like a holiday.

We found juice, and seats. Another reason why I love this guy so much: the foot massages. Aaaaaaaaaaah. My feet aren't exactly dainty - they very definitely belong to a runner. But all Nick says is, "It takes a runner to appreciate a runner's feet." before laying on the massages. Sweeeeeeeet.

We took a quick dip and were enjoying the swim till I started getting painful pinpricks on my skin. Ow! Little sea mutants! Headed back to shore in a jiffy. We were planning to go to Cafe Del Mar for drinks after dinner, but we couldn't find nice food so back at Vivo we went. Dinner at Bakerzin: Oh mamma!

Pumpkin soup. Nice and light but still kinda buttery. I really wanna try making this someday.

Ham and bacon penne in pink sauce. I ordered this solely because I was intrigued by the pink sauce. It was pink. I have no idea what they put in the sauce, besides tomatoes, but it tasted heavenly. I absolutely loved this.

Nick's spaghetti with meatballs - the biggest you ever saw! The minced beef is quite tender and really tasty. Another winner.

Dessert? Definitely! We ordered tapas - you get a choice of 3, 5 or 7 mini desserts from a selection of 8. We had (clockwise from top left) strawberry chocolate fondue, coupe cheesecake, vanilla panna cotta. Delectable!

Hmmmmm... strawberries. This better be good.

Mmmmm-mmmm! Definitely good. Great. Excellente.
Happiness.

Sunshine and giggles. So pink.

Curtains up! *giggle* And now, ladies and gentlemen, may I present... my new room!!!!!

View from the doorway. I love my rocking chair (complete with pink Mogu from Nick). Great for chilling out with a good book and a hot cuppa. Scenery's cool too - there's a big tree right outside my window, some mornings I actually wake up to birdsong!

My cupboard!

My dresser! (See anything familiar, girls? =P)

My 'jewellery boxes'! (Souvenirs from Sydney...)

My bookcase! Jam packed, but I got it nice and neat anyway.

... Aaaaaaaaaaand my bed!!!! This is the prettiest part of my room. Just looking at it makes me smile ;)
Sigh. I love my room. Such a pink dream. *bursts into rapturous giggling* Hee, I'm so giggly today. I had a great swim at the club with Dad after work, and a yummy dinner, and I got to catch a full episode of CSI and Grey's Anatomy, Mom saved me chickpeas, and Thursday is V Day!!!! Took Friday off - an extended Valentine's. Haha. Can't wait ;) Ahhhhhh... Life is good. *giggle*
