Lately I've been too busy to blog. I'm still busy, so I'll just post pics. Starting with these two.

The best dang fruit salad I've ever tasted. Fuji apples, oranges, green seedless grapes, raisins, walnuts, pinenuts and the piece de resistance... mango-flavoured NATA DE COCO!!!!!! Mmmmmm.... so so good. The grapes were very slightly sourish, which, when combined with the nuts, nicely balanced out the sweetness of the apples and nata de coco syrup. Which tasted like wine... mmmmmmmmm.

I gotta make me more of these salads.

Reasons to smile

Up till Friday night, it'd been a pretty horrible week. Bullie's passing on Tuesday was the worst of it. Finding out on Wednesday that yet another colleague had resigned didn't improve my mood, and this week's submissions only added to the stress - I could barely focus as it was, and they took up wayyyy too much of my time, time that I could have been spending doing things that mattered more. I was so busy Friday that I almost missed Nick's farewell, and barely made it in time to say goodbye to Lis before she flew back to Sydney that night. It didn't help that I'd planned to come home early on Thursday night to at least have dinner with her or something, then ended up working past midnight in the office...

I was very tempted to tear my hair out at some point that night. Or scream wildly. Or both. Not that anyone would have taken any notice, given that I was all alone in the building. Until a Saint materialised behind me, laden with an offering of fruit and Yakult, to make good on his threat to 'drag me out of there'. And then he helpfully shut down my computer and pulled me bodily out the door (failed attempt to figure out how the light switches work notwithstanding).

Stuff like that reminds me that no matter how crappy things get, there are still always reasons to smile. Thanks, dear Saint. I'm smiling.
